A bespoke mattress is one made entirely to your specification — not just to a non-standard size, but to a particular shape, foam grade, depth, cover type or combination of requirements that no standard mattress can meet. We have been making bespoke mattresses for over 40 years from our Birmingham workshop. Every mattress we make is bespoke in the truest sense — cut, assembled and finished by hand to the individual order, whether that order is a straightforward rectangle in a non-standard size or a complex shaped commission with multiple specific requirements.
The word bespoke is used loosely in the mattress industry — many retailers describe off-the-shelf mattresses as bespoke simply because they offer a choice of firmness. A genuinely bespoke mattress means cut to your dimensions, shaped to your bed platform, specified to your requirements and made to order rather than taken from stock. That is what we make, for every customer, every time.

A truly bespoke mattress is made entirely to order from raw materials — not cut from a standard-size mattress, not taken from stock and relabelled, and not simply a standard mattress with a custom cover. Every bespoke mattress we make starts with the foam or spring unit being cut or assembled to your dimensions. The cover is then cut and sewn to match the shape precisely — including any corner cuts, curved edges or angled sides.
This matters because a standard mattress cannot be reshaped after manufacture — the foam is cut to shape before the cover is applied. Any supplier who offers to cut down an existing standard mattress to fit your space is not making a bespoke mattress — they are cutting an existing product, and the cover will not fit the resulting shape properly.
Every mattress we make is cut from raw foam stock or built from individual spring units to your exact specification. The cover is then made to match. This is what bespoke means.
A shaped mattress is one where the sleeping surface is not a simple rectangle — it has corner cuts, curved ends, angled sides, or any other non-rectangular feature. Shaped mattresses are common in caravans and motorhomes, where the bed platform accommodates wheel arch intrusions, structural pillars or walkway access. They are also found in bespoke furniture builds, boat cabins and any situation where the available sleeping space is not rectangular.
Corner cut mattresses have a diagonal cut across one or more corners. The most common shape in caravan and motorhome applications. We need the overall length and width plus two measurements for each cut — how far along the side the cut starts and how far along the end it finishes.
Curved end mattresses have a radius cut at one or both ends. Common in French bed configurations where the curved end follows the wall of the caravan. We need the overall dimensions plus a template or radius measurement for the curve.

For any shaped mattress, a photograph of the bed platform from above alongside a tape measure is the most reliable way to communicate the shape to us. We will confirm our interpretation before cutting.
A split mattress is made in two or more sections rather than as one piece. Sections can be left loose, joined with a fabric link, or connected with a zip and link fastening. Split mattresses are used wherever a one-piece mattress is impractical — typically for under-bed storage access in caravans and motorhomes, or for compact folding storage in campervans.
Zip and link is the most versatile split option — the zip allows sections to be connected for sleeping and fully separated when needed. It is also the ideal solution where two people sharing a bed want different foam grades on each side — each half can be a completely different specification.
Split mattresses can be ordered in any size and shape, and the split can run in any direction — lengthways, widthways, or at the head or foot end. The specification of each section can be the same or different.
Firm, supportive and practical. The most affordable bespoke mattress option and suitable for everyday use, guest beds and occasional sleeping. Available from 10cm depth in any size or shape.
Higher density for better support and longer durability. The sensible upgrade for a bespoke mattress used as a regular sleeping surface. Same firm character as standard reflex, noticeably more durable.
Moulds to body shape, relieves pressure points and minimises motion transfer. Tencel breathable cover as standard. Available in any bespoke size or shape with no restrictions.
Naturally hypoallergenic, breathable and the most durable specification we offer. Retains its shape over years of regular use. The best long-term option for any bespoke mattress used daily.

Not necessarily. A bespoke mattress in a straightforward non-standard size is priced by area — the same rate as a standard size mattress in the same specification. There is no surcharge simply for cutting to a custom size. For shaped or complex commissions, the price reflects the additional work involved in cutting and covering an unusual shape — we will always confirm the price before you commit to an order.
