1. Cover that draws the heat away (Revo™)

   The internet calls it cool gel, but there is no gel in it — it is a foam made with open cells, so it releases your body heat rather than holding it in. Here that foam is built into the cover itself, sandwiched between two layers of fabric, sewn at the edges and finished with wave quilting, so cover and cooling are a single thing and it is the first thing you lie on. Laboratory-proven 30× more breathable than standard memory foam, so warmth never gathers below you. It is a cover very few makers have the skill to produce. Unzip it and the breathable layer comes away with it, making care simple.

2. Deep memory foam that moulds to you (Vasco™60)

   It softens with your body heat and cradles your shoulders, hips and back, so the places that ache stop taking your weight. It soaks up movement too, so when one of you gets up in the night the other stays asleep.

3. Springy support layer that stops you sinking (Laytec™)

   Set below the deep memory foam, a springy layer bears the load and keeps your back in line, so you settle into the cushioning on top while still being held from beneath.

4. Firm base layer

   A firm, durable and airy foundation that keeps the mattress true to shape season after season, while staying light enough to move easily even where access is tight.

The Grand Crescent™ is bespoke to your room: your foam is made precisely to the custom size you send us, and once the cover is fitted it adds a few millimetres to the final dimensions.

Where the bed drops into a snug recess, or you like a little slack for tucking sheets in, it can help to trim your figures slightly — though that is entirely down to how you prefer it.

How do the memory foam and cooling work together?

The memory foam wraps around you and eases pressure, while the breathable cover carries heat away — giving you all the comfort of memory foam without the warmth it normally holds in.

What do the four layers do?

From the top: a breathable cover that carries heat away, deep memory foam that eases pressure, a responsive layer beneath it that rebounds and keeps your spine in line, then a firm, ventilated base that stops you sinking.

How long does a rolled mattress take to expand?

Typically 95% of its custom shape and size returns within the first hour or two; now and then it may take 24 hours or so to regain its shape completely.

Is the Firm option suitable for everyday use?

Yes. Firm here describes the support beneath you, not the surface. The memory foam above still moulds to your shape, which is what makes it fine night after night.
