How to measure your new mattress
The measurements you enter are the measurements we cut. The cover then adds up to a centimetre or two on top. So the finished mattress comes out a little bigger than the size you enter.
Want room to tuck your sheets in? Or a little wiggle room to get it in and out? Take a few centimetres off before you enter your size.
Ordering the Grand Crescent? Its sides are fairly padded. So it measures a centimetre or two longer and wider than the size you enter. Remember to knock a couple of centimetres off the length and width for a snug fit.
Some mattresses are made in two or three separate pieces. Each piece has its own cover. That means more edges wrapped in fabric than a single mattress has. All that fabric adds up across the pieces. So a two or three piece mattress comes out a little bigger than the size you enter. Going into a tight space? Take a couple of centimetres off to be safe.
Measure inside the frame, edge to edge. Then take 2cm off the width and 2cm off the length. Enter those smaller numbers. This leaves a small gap all round. The mattress drops in easily, and you can tuck your sheets under. Want more room? Take 3cm off instead.
Example: a frame measuring 155 ร 203 inside โ enter 153 ร 201.
Is your mattress on a divan, with nothing around it? Then enter your exact size. Nothing is boxing it in. So the extra centimetre or two from the cover makes no difference.
If nothing is stopping you, we suggest about 20cm (8 inches). That gives the best mix of comfort and support. Need it thinner? Choose a firmer feel, so it still supports you well. Not sure? Just ask.
